Choosing the right people to suggest your post to is just as important as creating the content itself. Apostle gives you detailed filtering and selection options to ensure your posts reach the right team members, without overwhelming them.
This article expands on the Choose Channels step of post creation, focusing specifically on user selection, filtering tools, and team activity insights.
💡 Tip: If you're working with multiple post variations, check out this article for best practices on assigning variations to the right users.
Filtering your team
In the ambassador selection table, you’ll find several filters to help you segment your audience. These filters ensure you only suggest content to relevant users or pages.
You can filter by:
Topics: Select users linked to specific strategy topics
Groups: Filter by department, language, or region
Role: Show only Ambassadors or Masters
Auto-approve enabled: View only business pages that have auto-posting activated
⚠️ Important: These filters work together, allowing you to create highly specific combinations to target exactly the right group of users.
What information do you have about your team?
Next to filters like Groups and Topics, the selection table includes useful activity data to help you make informed decisions:
Recent suggestions: Shows how many posts a team member received in the past 7 days and is scheduled to receive in the next 7. This helps you balance suggestion load.
Last suggestion date: The most recent date a post was suggested to this user
Last shared date: The last time this user actually shared a post
Parameters (optional): If you've set up custom parameters in your team settings, these will also appear. This allows you to filter or check if required fields are complete before assigning content
💡 Tip: Use this information to identify inactive users or spot team members who are highly active and might benefit from additional content.
Using multi-select
If you’ve filtered your list and want to assign the post to multiple users at once:
Use your filters to narrow the list
Click Select All at the top of the table
⚠️ Important: This action only selects users on the current page. A message will appear: “All 10 members on this page have been selected.” Click Select All Members to assign the post to everyone in your filtered list.
Switching between tabs
Apostle supports different workflows. Some teams only use personal accounts, while others use business pages or email-only users. To support this, there are three tabs in the selection screen:
Ambassadors: For personal account users
Business Pages: For admins managing direct-to-page publishing
Email Only: For partners or users who receive post suggestions via email
💡 Tip: If your focus is only on one account type (for example, business pages), stick to the corresponding tab. This keeps the view relevant and avoids confusion.
