Sharing posts to personal accounts via the mobile app

Learn how to review, edit, and post content to your personal LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or X (Twitter) account using Apostle's mobile app.

With Apostle's mobile app, you’ll receive push notifications when a post is ready to be shared. Each post appears in your Inbox, where you can open, personalize, and post it to your connected personal social media accounts.

Note: To start posting, you need an account and at least one post suggested to you by your admin. If your inbox is empty, it means no content has been scheduled for you yet.

⚠️ Important: Your admin decides which platforms are available for you to post on. Some posts may only be assigned to specific platforms, so you might not always see all channels in your app.


LinkedIn

  1. Open the post in your inbox

  2. Tap Edit post to personalize the content

  3. Change the text or tap the image to replace it (if your admin has enabled image editing)

  4. Tap the LinkedIn button

  5. Choose to Post now or Plan post for later

⚠️ Important: You only need to log in the first time to connect your LinkedIn account. Apostle never accesses your account.

💡Tip: After posting, you’ll receive a notification from the app reminding you that your post is live. If you want to tag someone manually, you can open the post in LinkedIn and edit it there. Tags added by your admin will already be included automatically.


Facebook

Note: Make sure the Facebook app is installed on your phone. After being redirected, press and hold the text field to paste the copied text.

  1. Open the post in your inbox

  2. Tap Edit post to personalize the content

  3. Change the text or tap the image to replace it (if your admin has enabled image editing)

  4. Tap the Facebook button

  5. The text is copied to your clipboard and media begins downloading

  6. You’ll be redirected to the Facebook app

  7. Choose whether to post to your Feed or Story (this screen may look slightly different on iOS and Android)

  8. Paste the text into the text field (tap and hold to paste)

  9. Complete your post in Facebook as usual

⚠️ Important: Facebook posts in the mobile app are always published immediately. As a user, you cannot reschedule Facebook posts


Instagram

Note: Make sure the Instagram app is installed on your phone. Instagram opens the profile currently logged in, switch to your own account before posting. Want to share the same content to both Feed and Story? Just repeat the steps and select a different option.

  1. Open the post in your inbox

  2. Tap Edit post to personalize the content

  3. Change the text or tap the image to replace it (if your admin has enabled image editing)

  4. Tap the Instagram button

  5. The text is copied to your clipboard and the media downloads

  6. The Instagram app opens automatically

  7. Choose whether to post to Feed, Story, or DM

  8. Paste the text into the text field (tap and hold to paste)

  9. Complete your post in Instagram as you normally would​

⚠️ Important: Scheduling is not supported for Instagram. All posts must be shared immediately and cannot be rescheduled with the app.


X

  1. Open the post in your inbox

  2. Tap Edit post to personalize the content

  3. Change the text or tap the image to replace it (if your admin has enabled image editing)

  4. Tap the X button

  5. Choose to Post now or Plan post for later

⚠️ Important: You’ll need to log in the first time to connect your X account. This connection allows the Apostle app to publish posts on your behalf, but it does not give us access to your account.


Rejecting a post

  • Tap the thumbs down icon in the post screen

  • Or swipe left in your inbox

  • Optionally leave feedback for your admin

  • The post will be removed from your inbox and will not be posted.


FAQs

Why do I need to connect my LinkedIn and X account?

For LinkedIn and X, the Apostle app uses a direct connection to your account so that your post can be published automatically. You only need to log in once, the first time you post. After that, the connection stays active, and you won’t need to log in again unless you disconnect or reinstall the app. Apostle never gets access to your account beyond enabling the posting functionality.

Why can’t I schedule Facebook or Instagram posts?

Facebook and Instagram don’t support scheduled posting through external mobile apps. Posts on these platforms must always be published manually and immediately. Only your admin can schedule them in advance for you, rescheduling or selecting a different time yourself isn’t possible for Facebook and Instagram.

What if I have multiple Instagram accounts?

Instagram will open the account that’s currently active on your phone. Switch to your preferred account before posting to avoid publishing from the wrong profile.

Can I also share to Facebook and Instagram Stories?

Yes. For both Facebook and Instagram, once you're redirected to the app, you can manually choose whether to post to your Feed or Story. Just select the option that fits best for your content.

Why do I need to paste my text manually?

Due to platform restrictions, Apostle can’t pre-fill text in Facebook or Instagram. The text is copied to your clipboard for easy pasting.

Will I get reminders?

Yes. You’ll receive a push notification when the post is ready to be published, even for scheduled content.
