Access tokens for both personal and business accounts expire from time to time. It’s not a bug, it’s a safety feature from the social media platforms. These tokens have an expiration date, and they can also become invalid when you change your password or update account settings.

If you see a broken connection error, reconnecting your account will get things back on track.

⚠️ Important: You’ll always receive an email when your business page disconnects.

How to reconnect a business page

These steps apply only to connected business accounts.

On desktop (web)

  1. Go to your Team dashboard

  2. Click your profile picture and open Personal Settings

  3. Select Business Pages

  4. Find the disconnected account and click Reconnect

  5. Follow the steps to reauthorize your account

  6. Done. You’ll be redirected and your business account is ready to share again

On mobile

  1. Open the Apostle app

  2. Tap the menu, then go to Settings

  3. Find the broken connection and tap the platform

  4. Follow the steps to reauthorize your account

  5. Done. You’re back in and ready to share again

💡 Note: After reconnecting, the post will be shared automatically.

How to reconnect a personal account

Sometimes personal LinkedIn or X (Twitter) accounts also disconnect. Unlike business pages, these reconnect during the sharing process.

Here’s what happens:

  • When a new post is suggested, the ambassador will be redirected to LinkedIn or X

  • They reauthorize their account just like during onboarding

  • After reconnecting, the post is shared automatically

⚠️ Important: The user does not have to go back into the app/email and share it again.
