Overview

Our WhatsApp integration lets your ambassadors share content and submit uploads using a tool they already know and love. It's fast, personal, and plugs right into your existing Apostle workflows, no downloads, no friction.

How does the WhatsApp integration work?

Your teammates receive proposed social posts directly via WhatsApp, where they can choose to publish on their personal or company pages. They can also upload content to your Inspiration Wall using WhatsApp, way quicker than using the mobile app or email.

Tip: WhatsApp is familiar and frictionless, making adoption a breeze for busy ambassadors.

Why is there an extra cost for WhatsApp post suggestions?

Meta charges a fee for every message sent through WhatsApp Business. Apostle passes along only those direct costs, typically based on the number of post suggestions, reminders, and uploads sent to your team via WhatsApp.

Can I use my own WhatsApp Business number?

Absolutely. With our whitelabel integration via CM.com, you can use your own branded WhatsApp Business number, complete with logo and sender name.

Important: This setup requires a one-time fee of €997, covering activation, configuration, and linking your number to Apostle.

How long does setup take?

Admins can get started almost instantly:

  1. Provide your colleagues' phone numbers.

  2. Our support team will activate WhatsApp for your account.

  3. Your team automatically receives a WhatsApp message to opt in.

Bonus: Ambassadors don’t need to do anything, just receive, tap, and post. They can also opt out of WhatsApp anytime without losing access to email or mobile app notifications.

What if some brand ambassadors prefer not to use WhatsApp?

No problem. Posting via WhatsApp is completely optional. You can still suggest posts through the Apostle mobile app or email and only WhatsApp users generate additional costs.

How is billing handled?

Your WhatsApp usage is added as an extra line item on your monthly Apostle invoice. During setup, you’ll choose a package with our Customer Success team that fits your estimated usage.

Note: Package changes are allowed once per month and apply to your next invoice cycle.

What happens if I exceed my WhatsApp package limit?

We’ll notify you automatically if you’re nearing your limit. You can then:

  • Pause WhatsApp delivery temporarily.

  • Upgrade your package for the following month.

Either way, you’re in control, no surprise charges.

Which actions generate WhatsApp charges?

There are three WhatsApp-triggered actions that count toward your usage:

  • Sending a suggested post

  • Sending a reminder

  • Receiving an upload from a brand ambassador

Example: One suggested post sent to 20 ambassadors = 20 individual messages = 20 charges from Meta.

Can I send reminders through WhatsApp?

Yes! Set the number of reminders you want in Team Settings, then toggle WhatsApp as the delivery method in your Integration Settings.

Pro tip: You can even send reminders exclusively via WhatsApp if that suits your strategy.

Can ambassadors unsubscribe from WhatsApp notifications?

Yes. Each user can disable WhatsApp messages in their Personal Settings. Admins can also remove a phone number from the system to stop WhatsApp delivery entirely.

Does Meta store personal data?

Nope. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted, and Meta doesn’t store any of your team’s personal information.
