Tracking link clicks helps you analyze the performance of your team’s posts. In Apostle, you can either use the built-in link shortener or integrate your own Bitly account for centralized tracking. This guide shows you how to connect your Bitly account to Apostle.

Step 1: Generate your Bitly API token

Before integrating, you’ll need an API access token from Bitly:

  • Go to Bitly and log in

  • Click the Settings icon in the left menu

  • Navigate to Developer Settings and select API

  • Enter your password and click Generate Token

  • Copy the generated token

Step 2: Connect Bitly to Apostle

Now that you have your token, integrate Bitly with Apostle:

  • Log in to Apostle

  • Click your Name in the top-right corner

  • Go to Team Settings

  • In the left menu, click Integrations

  • Paste your Bitly token into the Bitly token field

  • Click Save and Bitly is now successfully connected to Apostle.

How to use the Bitly integration

Once your integration is set up, Apostle will automatically shorten and track links using your Bitly account:

  • Go to Create Post

  • Paste your full link in the text field

  • Click the Edit icon next to the link

  • Enable Shorten links and track link clicks

  • Click Save

Apostle will now use Bitly to shorten your link and track clicks.

⚠️ Important: Click data from your Bitly links will appear both in your Bitly dashboard and in Apostle’s Insights section. This allows you to measure the effectiveness of your team’s posts in one place.
